Win the Moment. Win the Day.
1 Problem
Have you ever had a make-or-break moment… and hesitated? You sit down to send the email, make the call, or take action—then suddenly, doubt creeps in.
You hesitate. You procrastinate. And the moment passes.
This isn’t about time management. It’s about moment management. We lose momentum not because we lack time, but because we don’t win these small moments of hesitation, distraction, and procrastination.
But what if the key isn’t forcing action—but creating space in the moment, then acting from that space?
1 Quote
“Between stimulus and response, there is a space. In that space is our power to choose our response.” – Viktor Frankl
Most of us rush past that space. We feel hesitation and either fight it or flee from it. But high performers do something different. They pause, breathe, and shift from reaction to action.
1 Story
A few months ago, I had a big deal on the line.
All I had to do was send the email with my proposal. I had everything ready.
Yet, when I sat down to hit “send,” I froze.
What if I phrased it wrong? What if I overpriced it? What if they rejected it and canceled their current business with us?
I almost closed my laptop. But instead, I paused.
I took three deep breath cycles—something I learned from Andrew Huberman’s podcast. I sat in the hesitation—without fighting it. I acknowledged the resistance, but I didn’t let it control me.
Then, I opened my laptop, read the email one last time, and hit send.
Within a day, the client responded. We got the deal.
But the biggest win? I won that moment—and as a result, I won that day and that deal.
1 Solution
Next time you feel hesitation creeping in, use this 3-step method to break the cycle:
Step 1: Pause & Breathe (Create Space in the Moment) Instead of pushing through resistance, pause. Take two deep inhales through your nose, hold for a second, then exhale for six to eight seconds. Repeat three times.
Why?: This resets your nervous system and disrupts the stress-response cycle.
Step 2: Name It (Separate Yourself from the Emotion) Say: “I feel resistance. That’s okay.” Or: “I feel hesitation, but I can still act.”
Why?: Naming the hesitation creates distance from it, so it loses power over you.
Step 3: Take One Small Action (Break the Pattern) Don’t try to finish the task—just start.
- Type the first sentence.
- Dial the number.
- Write one bullet point.
Why?: Small actions create momentum. Once you start, inertia takes over.
Winning these small moments changes everything.
Every missed opportunity, delayed project, or sales call we don’t make comes down to a single moment of decision.
Imagine if, every time you felt resistance, you paused, breathed, named it, and took one small step. Would that change your day? Your results? Your business?
Next time hesitation kicks in, try this three-step process. Then comment below—what happened? Did it help?
And if this was helpful, share it with someone who needs to hear it. Let’s start winning more moments.
